Berlin-based photographer Anselm Kissel works in the fields of documentary, portrait and architecture. His work captures the beauty of the ordinary and the unseen. Anselm grew up close to Mannheim, where he learned classic photography. After 2 years working as cruise ship photographer (just for adventure) he spent seven years in Paris where he assisted photographers such as Jan Welters, Jonas Unger, Matthieu Salvaing, Glen Luchford…… .

During this time, Kissel started to travel and developed a sensibility for society and architecture. He combines this sensibility with his direct, analogue photography style to tell unvarnished day-to-day stories.

His work has been published in magazines such as The Weekender, vice.fr, ZEITmagazin, mare, Chrismon, FAZ, and Welt am Sonntag.
